non Connected Standby (Non-CS)
A new power management option in Windows 8, Connected Standby allows applications to remain connected to the internet even when applications are suspended during system hibernation, so they can still receive updates as well as new information. With it, users may refresh information and application, such as emails and messages, on their devices anytime, anywhere. While traditional applications will be suspended during Connected Standby for energy saving purposes, the advantage of this new technique works just like any smartphones: even when the screen is off or hibernating, other applications are still drawing minimal power and remains connected, preventing instances of data loss or delay in updates. Also, Connected Standby may suspend and save the statuses of any applications that are not running onscreen to prevent taking up resources from the CPU.
